The DK3 – Pia Chair Design by Poul Cadovius
Poul Cadovius received a lot of attention, especially for his iconic shelving systems. The world-famous ROYAL SYSTEM® from 1948 It was one of the first innovative wall-hung furniture systems in the world.
With the introduction of the PIA CHAIR dining room chair in 1959, Cadovius was also able to include the title of chair designer in his résumé.
His intention was to create a chair in the spirit of the times, which was largely inspired by other designer chairs from the 1950s. This is how the light and “graceful” Pia Chair, unmistakable in both body weight and design expression, was created. The chair was developed according to the “less is more” concept, with a focus on the lowest possible material consumption while at the same time offering a high level of detail and excellent comfort.
