The PP Møbler – pp502 Swivel Chair office chair by Hans J.Wegner
Wegner was inspired by the criticism of consultant, professor and doctor of medicine Egill Snorrason PhD, which was directed against the entire Danish design and furniture industry for not paying attention to ergonomics. In his critique, however, Snorrason had pointed out that Wegner’s Cow Horn Chair was a good example of ergonomics done right, which was taken into account in the design of the Swivel Chair.
Like numerous other Wegner designs, the Swivel Chair was intended to be made by craftsmen, without regard to cost-minimizing industrial production.
The office chair poses great challenges to the cabinetmaker, the upholsterer, and the blacksmith, as it requires time-consuming work that must not be compromised in any way.

PP Møbler is a family-owned Danish furniture manufacturer founded in 1953 that has long specialized in the production of high-quality designer furniture.
