The Design VL66 by Vermund Larsen
In the 1960s, the VL66 was represented in many workplaces. It is a durable office chair with leather reinforcement in the most stressed areas. The design of the VL66 is still the original from 1966 with a chrome frame and upholstery.
Vermund Larsen was an interior designer and chair manufacturer. In 1935, he founded Vermund Larsen A/S and was one of the pioneers in ergonomic office chairs. Vermund Larsen’s unique and pioneering furniture design influenced today’s office chair manufacture. Vermund Larsen was involved in the development of ergonomic seats and backrests at the forefront, so that its ergonomic designs set standards worldwide.
In 1961 he developed the first European office chair with automatic height adjustment in the form of a gas spring system, which has been used ever since. The first design variant of the VL66 was introduced in 1962. The seat and backrest were originally made of wood and a new version with Hallingdal upholstery was launched in 1966. Now the time is ripe for a rediscovery of its classic design: the VL66 office chair is being re-launched.
