Carl Hansen & Søn presents Børge Mogensen’s BM0121 circular dining table in solid oak, known for its simple design, functional details, and expert craftsmanship. First shown in 1952 at the Arts and Crafts Spring Exhibition in Copenhagen, the table was part of Mogensen’s series for small homes. Now, Carl Hansen & Søn is relaunching this functional piece as the first circular extendable table in their collection. The BM0121 features a lightweight 19mm thick FSC-certified oak tabletop, supported by bent steel profiles for stability. The upward-curving apron provides extra legroom, while the slightly tapered legs enhance its refined, elegant look.

About BM0121 Dining Table and Børge Mogensen:

Carl Hansen & Søn presents Børge Mogensen’s BM0121 circular dining table in solid oak, first introduced in 1952 at the Arts and Crafts Spring Exhibition. Part of a series designed for small homes, it is now relaunched as the first circular extendable table in the collection. The table seats four but can accommodate six with an oak or MDF insert leaf.

Mogensen’s design philosophy centered on simple, functional furniture for both private and public spaces, combining solid wood and leather while avoiding unnecessary decoration. A student of Kaare Klint, his work is known for its calming and practical nature. Later, Mogensen became a respected educator and was named Honorary Royal Designer for Industry shortly before his death in 1972.
