Ole Wanscher’s T-Chair shows his understanding of the characteristic, simple aesthetics and functionality of the Danish design movement. He was always looking for the ideal furniture constructions, which he then gave a more modern expression. Ole Wanscher’s deep respect for materials, craftsmanship and functionality are at the forefront. The OW58 T-Chair reissued in 2021 in a faithful homage to its original design – albeit slightly adjusted in height for optimal ergonomics for today’s design enthusiasts who are a little taller. The very sophisticated, sculptural piece of furniture, with the characteristic feature of the T-shaped backrest and first-class carpentry, embodies both classic and modern lines and gives the chair a light and elegant appearance. The result of careful workmanship and many hours of work ensure smooth transitions in the joints. The most striking detail of the chair is the T-shaped backrest, which merges with the legs. The closely set rear legs give the chair a three-legged appearance. Despite its light expression, the T-Chair has a wide, padded seat that offers excellent comfort and is ideal for use in the catering industry.
