The PK52 Design by Poul Kjærholm:
Poul Kjærholm’s PK52 Professor Desk – a very special desk that combines wood and steel in a clear, light construction. This expression gives the desk a perfect unmistakable charm, which illustrates Kjærholm’s great contribution to Danish design – perfectly crafted elegant versatility
The PK52 Professor Desk was designed by Poul Kjærholm for the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts while he was a member of the academic staff. The ingeniously constructed desk underlines the characteristic ability of Kjærholm to combine traditional craftsmanship and industrial design. A sleek shape embodies the lightness and geometric elegance for which Kjærholm was known – his pioneering role in designs such as the PK52 Professor Desk also helped place Danish design on the world map.
The PK52 is also available in a smaller version as the PK52A Student Desk. Both desks can also be used as dining tables as their tabletops are reversible and either side can be used for its own purpose. There is also an optional drawer for the tables as a nice storage solution.
