Vega:

Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen created modernist masterpieces where everything was thought through down to the smallest detail – like the Vega music venue, for which he designed the Vega Chair VLA26. Previously only found in the historic concert halls of Vega, the Vega Chair is now being put into production by Carl Hansen & Søn in collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects.

Vilhelm Lauritzen  (1894 – 1984) :

Vilhelm Theodor Lauritzen was one of Denmark’s most important architects and a father of Danish modernism. Many of his projects stand today as enduring examples of the then new and revolutionary approach to architecture, where form followed function. Throughout his career, he believed that architecture should be an applied art that serves everyone, not just a privileged few. Lauritzen’s talents also extended to interior design. Over the course of his career, he designed everything from door handles, ashtrays and railings to lamps, sofas and chairs. In 1922, he founded the firm Tegnestuen Vilhelm Lauritzen, now known as Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects.
