Corona became a classic a long time ago and has already appeared in numerous films, fashion editorials, and music videos. Poul M. Volther was inspired by the human anatomy when he designed Corona which is why it looks light but is actually as strong as a spine.

About the designer, Poul M. Volther:

Poul M. Volther was an important champion of Scandinavian functionalism. Although rooted in a rationalist design dogma and inspired by the purpose-driven mindset of the Bauhaus movement, Volther was eager to experiment with new methodologies. His unerring sense of detail and appreciation of material properties resulted in simple, stylised furniture with a subtle yet striking aesthetic.
