DK3 – System Ultra®

In 1957, the Danish designer and manufacturer Poul Cadovius launched the shelving system System Ultra® as a successor to the iconic Royal System® from 1948. System Ultra® is based on the same design principle as its famous predecessor but has its very own visual appearance.

Materials:

• Oak or walnut
• The rails are made of solid wood, and the rail screws are the same material as the hangers.
• Shelves and cabinets: veneered, thickness 7 cm.
• Hangers and clothes rack: steel.

Hangers:

• Raw brass, stainless steel, or black.
• Since brass is softer than stainless steel, it is expected that the shelves with brass hangers will “function” more than shelves with stainless steel hangers.
• Hangers are not sold separately.

Finishing:

• Oiled

We recommend a weight limit of 35 pounds / 15 kg per shelf to maintain structural integrity. However, shelves may slightly bend over time.

The DK3 – System Ultra® design by Poul Cadovius:

System Ultra® consists of wall-mounted wooden rails, veneered shelves, and hangers made of brass, black steel, or stainless steel. It also includes a clothes rack in black steel and a cabinet in wood with sliding doors made of wood, clear glass, or textured glass. The system is characterized by ultra-thin shelves with an elegant, wave-shaped edge that gives the shelving a beautiful, organic form. It can be customized in various combinations, with the different materials harmoniously complementing each other and enhancing the elegant design.

In 1957, Poul Cadovius exhibited at the XI Triennale in Milan, where he won a silver medal for System Ultra®. A highly esteemed award and international recognition for exceptional design.
