The variety of cabinets gives several combination options and can be mounted either separately on the wall or as a sideboard of various cabinets and drawers. The system comes in either oak or walnut, and some of the cabinets are available with a beautiful handwoven veneer front.

The dk3 System Cado® designed by Poul Cadovius:

After the successful launches of Royal System® in 1948 and System Ultra® in 1957, Danish designer and furniture manufacturer Poul Cadovius expanded his shelving offerings with System Cado® in 1960. While ROYAL SYSTEM® and SYSTEM ULTRA® primarily utilized wall-mounted rails, System Cado® innovatively incorporated both rails and large wooden panels, including shelves, tables, sofas, and even a bed, completing the concept of wall-hung furniture.

Poul Cadovius regarded System Cado® as one of his most exclusive designs, thanks to its elegant details. The cabinets feature a gently sloping edge profile that adds lightness and sophistication to the design.

To revitalize this exclusive line, dk3 is relaunching System Cado® cupboards and drawers as free-hanging cabinets, which can be mounted on walls without visible suspension rails. These made-to-order cabinets are available with drawers, handleless doors, or sliding doors in wood or glass. A drop-front version is also available, functioning as either a cellaret or writing desk, complete with a pre-installed workstation and finger-jointed drawers for paper and envelopes.

The variety of cabinets allows for multiple combinations, whether mounted individually or as a sideboard. Available in oak or walnut, some cabinets feature a stunning handwoven veneer front, which has also been reintroduced for the Royal System® and was part of the original collection in the early fifties.
