EXHIBITION MODEL BETWEEN -30% AND -75% DISCOUNT – Fritz Hansen – The Orient pendant lamp was designed by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 and relaunched in 2013 by Light Years in close collaboration with the Hammerborg family, heirs to Jo Hammerborg’s design. The organic expression beautifully combines the deep, pulsating copper glow and the rosewood lace. The lamp has 21/24 narrow, vertical slits on the top of the real copper shade, allowing the light to pass through. The lamp elegantly conceals the energy-saving light source and provides a soft, pleasant and glare-free light.

The Orient-Design by Jo Hammerborg:

He was a real ideas man and entrepreneur who throughout his life initiated and developed the things he was passionate about. He was a driving force for Fog & Mørup, under his leadership the company experienced its most creative and commercially successful period. With a strong design philosophy, great insight into elimination technique and a deep understanding of form, function and aesthetics, he created over 180 different lamp designs, some of which won international awards. In 1980 Fog & Mørup underwent a series of mergers and in the late 90s production of his designs was discontinued.

And now, decades later, when his coveted lamps are in high demand, it is once again possible to buy a newly manufactured Jo Hammerborg lamp. Light Years, in collaboration with the Hammerborg family, has decided to relaunch the Orient pendant lamp.

Jo Hammerborg’s innovative contribution to Danish lamp design is self-evident in the 21st century, and Light Years can only be proud to continue his beautiful design legacy.
