Göran Wärff (1933-2022) was a legendary Swedish glass artist who significantly influenced Kosta Boda and the Kingdom of Crystal for over 60 years. Born in Slite, Gotland, the sea profoundly inspired his work. Originally aspiring to be an architect, Wärff discovered his passion for glass at Pukeberg Glassworks, leading to a lifelong career with Kosta Boda starting in 1964.
His innovative, bold designs were celebrated globally, with prestigious commissions for the Sydney Opera House and Växjö Cathedral. Known for his continuous experimentation with clear glass and optical effects, his pieces reveal hidden depths and dynamic light phenomena.
