The Louis Poulsen Above Pendant is a new pendant by the Danish designer Mads Odsgård with a minimalistic design.

Above has a triangular profile with a curved opening at the top, through which the black cord passes. It provides downward light and discreet upward lighting, resulting in a subdued and pleasant atmosphere. The appealing open top, to which the name refers, conceals the light source and gives the pendant a smart, functional appearance.

The pendant emits soft, comfortable downward light. The conical shape and matt, white-painted interior helps assure even distribution of the light. The opening in the top provides decorative illumination of the arc above, and ensures that the pendant retains the full expression of its visual shape, both when illuminated and when switched off.
