Wegner originally designed this chair for DSB Fährgesellschaft, which then preferred a different Wegner chair (pp208). Wegner then worked on the design, and in 1987 the pp58 / 68 went into production at PP Møbler.

The chair stands for simplicity, durability and functionality. Wegner created an object of daily use – and nothing more – simply a chair.
