The Sibast Furniture – AV Egoist Chair design by Arne Vodder

A true rarity – timeless and unique. The AV Egoist chaise longue was a personal favorite of Danish architect and designer Arne Vodder (1926-2009). Only a few Egoist Chairs were made over time, having been designed in the early 1950’s. That will now be made up for. The Danish manufacturer Sibast Furniture, together with Michael Vodder, Arne Vodder’s son, reached into the archives and recreated the chaise longue with the help of some old drawings, measurements and some photos.

The AV Egoist chaise longue is organic yet powerful in its design. This unique, comfortable piece of furniture exudes resilience, feel and finesse and combines exclusive materials with refined craftsmanship. The lying, curved seat of the chaise longue consists of an organically shaped wooden frame that is covered with a latticework of woven leather. The seat rests casually on an elegant wooden frame, optionally made of walnut or oak. The result is a perfect, harmonious piece of furniture that, despite its stringent design language and robust natural materials, offers a softly enclosing seat or bed.

The AV Egoist is available with an integrated side table with a brass bracket and a wooden tray. The triangular soft format of the tray offers just enough space for a cup, glass, newspaper, tablet or book.
