The VL66 design by Vermund Larsen
In the sixties, the VL66 was present in many workplaces. It is a durable office chair with leather reinforcement in the most stressed areas. The design of the VL66 is still the original from 1966 with chrome frame and upholstery.
Vermund Larsen was an interior designer and chair manufacturer. He founded Vermund Larsen A/S in 1935 and was one of the pioneers of ergonomic office chairs. Vermund Larsen’s unique and groundbreaking furniture design has influenced today’s office chair manufacturing. Vermund Larsen was at the forefront of the development of ergonomic seats and backrests, and his ergonomic designs set standards worldwide.
In 1961, he developed the first European office chair with automatic height adjustment in the form of a gas spring system, which has been used to this day. The first design version of the VL66 was introduced in 1962. The seat and backrest were originally made of wood and a new version with Hallingdal upholstery was launched in 1966. Now the time is ripe for a rediscovery of its classic design: the VL66 office chair is being relaunched.
