VL 56 pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen

The VL 56 pendant lamp is one of the lamps that Vilhelm Lauritzen designed for Vega and still hangs today above the wood-paneled bar that borders the concert hall. The chrome and brass versions of the lights were reintroduced in 2023 with slight adjustments and improvements.

About this product:

The well-known functionalist architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VL 56 pendant lamp for “Folkets Hus” in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen. The building, originally designed and built for the Danish labor movement, opened in 1956 and is now used as a concert hall under the name Vega. The building is a total work of art, which means that Lauritzen designed everything in the building. From doorknobs, stairwells and sockets to furniture and lights. The VL 56 pendant lamp is one of the lamps designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Vega and still hangs above the wood-panelled bar that borders the concert hall. The chrome and brass finishes were reintroduced in 2023 with slight adjustments and improvements.
