Tom Rossaus first experience in design started with Lego. In the year 2004 he began to experiment with wooden materials and the flexible abilities of the nature product. In 2006, he designed his bestseller lamp TR7, that won the Danish Copenhagen Furniture Fair in design. Since then his charateristic lamps became icons of nordic design. Even though his business is expanding he decided to keep his design studios and manufacturer in Copenhagen. This way he can participate in every step of production of the lamps to secure the high quality standards of Tom Rossau.

Tom Rossau is fascinated by the variety and uniqueness of the material wood and is respecting it a lot in his designs. He believes that the wood is the actual designer and he is just a helper in the process. The key parts of his designs are functionality, sustainability and low energy consumption.
