Carl Hansen & Søn and the CH24 Wishbone Chair for Children:

In honour of Carl Hansen & Søn’s 110th birthday, the CH24 Wishbone Chair, designed in 1949, is now also available in a version suitable for children aged 3 and over. Despite its smaller size, the production of this design classic is no less complex. The individual components cannot simply be reduced in size in the same proportion, but require their own precise measurements to maintain the original expression of the chair and balance the proportions. The diameter of the paper cord has also been reduced to achieve a lighter expression that perfectly fits the smaller dimensions of the chair.

Like the original, the CH24 Children’s Wishbone Chair consists of 14 individual parts, and the manufacture and assembly of the chair involves more than a hundred steps, most of which are carried out by hand. It takes an experienced weaver about an hour to weave the seat and uses 75 meters of paper cord. As usual, all processes are carried out at Carl Hansen & Søn’s factory in Gelsted, Denmark.

This chair is limited and will only be available for 1 year, until March 31, 2025.
